All Four Disney World Parks in One Afternoon: Part 1

My Plan for visiting All Four Disney World Parks in One Afternoon

On a recent trip to Walt Disney World with the family, I was able to take an extra day off of work and fly down in the morning, with the rest of the family catching their flight after work and school. Since we had already tackled all four disney world parks in one full day on a previous trip, I figured I would give it a shot by myself, on the day that I arrived in Orlando Airport at 1PM. I know, sounds crazy, but realistically I am not expecting to be able to hit many attractions. The goal is to set foot in every park, grab a few photos, and maybe hit a ride or two.

So on this day, Animal Kingdom was open until 5PM, Hollywood Studios till 8PM, Magic Kingdom till 10PM and Epcot till midnight. If I hit them in the order they close I should have lots of time to hit all four Disney World Parks in one afternoon, right? I even plan to take an evening break to have dinner with my parents somewhere.

In our experience, when using Magical Express, we have always been able to be in a park in less than three hours after our plane lands in Orlando. In this case, it would have been easy to make it in less than two hours, since I was meeting my parents at the airport for a quick ride to my resort, which was Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kidani Villas. I knew that being at Animal Kingdom Villas would make the bus ride from the resort to Animal Kingdom very quick. But I ran into a few issues before even getting to the first park…

This was my first stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and let me tell you, for your first time, its quite difficult to leave your room with all the giraffes, zebras, okapi, etc. right outside your balcony! Since my parents and I were enjoying the view so much, I didn’t get out of the room until 3PM.

The first “distraction” I had to deal with before attempting to visit all four Disney World parks in One Afternoon…

I finally left the room all geared up with my camera, long lens for the safari, and a small zoom for walking around in the other parks. As I walked towards the lobby, I saw a sign pointing downstairs: “Sanaa Lounge”. Hmmmm. I’ll make a quick detour to check that out.

The lounge and dining area were completely empty. Just the bartender. So I had to sit for one drink. I chose the Red Stag Lemonade from the new drink menu…

The second “distraction” I ran into while attempting to visit all four Disney World Parks in One Afternoon…

I chatted with the bartender and a few other people showed up and I chatted with them, and before I knew it, its 4PM. I finished my drink and headed to the bus stop to attempt my self challenge of all four Disney World parks in one afternoon, starting now at 4PM. Ugh. Its getting kinda late…

I get outside and the weather has turned from sunny and calm to dark clouds and gusty winds. Weather is not looking promising. I rethink my strategy and decide to dump the photo gear for just the umbrella. So I walk quickly back to the room, number 7676, the absolute furthest one from the lobby, drop the gear, and I’m back off to the bus stop. Its now 4:30PM, AK closes in 30 minutes and I’m just leaving my room. On the way back to the bus stop I contemplate skipping Animal Kingdom, but as fate would have it, that was the first bus to show up, so off I went on my quest to visit all four Disney World parks in one afternoon. I am now on my way to a park that closes in 20 minutes…

So that is how my Four Disney World Parks in one Afternoon attempt started. Do you think I was successful? Go to Part two of the All Four Disney Parks in one Afternoon series to find out! Be sure to Like our Facebook page to be notified when add new content!
