Touring Disney World in the Rain

Lightning over Space Ship Earth

Anyone who has traveled to central Florida in summer knows that the area is notorious for its nearly daily rain showers. If you are planning a visit to the Disney World theme parks during the rainy season, touring the parks in the rain is unavoidable. However, do not let the rain interfere with enjoying your Disney World vacation. As long as we are not talking about a hurricane, a rainy day at Disney World is quite manageable. … [Continue reading...]

Disney’s BeadForLife Kiosks

Bead For Life at Disney World

If you have read some of my other articles, you know I love to shop.  Granted, I tend to look for the best “deal”, but I love artsy, unique items that have a special meaning.  Usually these items are handmade, one of a kind and rarely inexpensive and yet I've found the perfect treasure right at Disney at their BeadForLife Kiosks. … [Continue reading...]

All Four Disney World Parks in One Afternoon: Part 4

Wishes! Fireworks Display at Disney's Magic Kingdom.

This is the last part in a four part series. If you arrived here without reading the previous articles, you may want to start at the beginning. Part 4: Disney's Magic Kingdom and Epcot After saying goodbye to my parents for the night I walked out to the bus stop at the Yacht Club to catch the bus to Magic Kingdom. This turned out to be a bad idea. The amount of time I spent sitting at that bus stop waiting for the Magic Kingdom bus I could have walked from Yacht Club, to the International … [Continue reading...]

All Four Disney World Parks in One Afternoon: Part 1

Giraffe photo-Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas

My Plan for visiting All Four Disney World Parks in One Afternoon On a recent trip to Walt Disney World with the family, I was able to take an extra day off of work and fly down in the morning, with the rest of the family catching their flight after work and school. Since we had already tackled all four disney world parks in one full day on a previous trip, I figured I would give it a shot by myself, on the day that I arrived in Orlando Airport at 1PM. I know, sounds crazy, but realistically I … [Continue reading...]

More Free Wi-Fi at Disney World!

On August, 1, 2012, Inside the Magic announced that Magic Kingdom is now providing free Wi-Fi access covering the entire park. Additionally, they received official word that Disney plans to provide free Wi-Fi at all four theme parks and the Downtown Disney area by early 2013. How will free wi-fi in the parks be used? Most likely, this is part a larger plan by Disney, related to the NextGen FastPass system currently under development. I have not been too involved on the speculation as to all … [Continue reading...]

California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Oak-fired Filet of Beef at Disney's California Grill

Sitting on the top floor of Disney's Contemporary resort, the California Grill has been on our Signature Dining “bucket list” for quite some time. Finally, on our most recent trip, Dave and I were lucky enough to snag reservations at this highly popular Signature Dining location and after reading some recent stellar reviews (Thanks, Disney Food Blog!) we were very anxious for this experience! … [Continue reading...]

Citizens of Hollywood

Officer Percival Peabody

The Citizens of Hollywood, formerly known as Streetmosphere, are a hilarious group of actors that put on various performances multiple times a day in the streets of Disney's Hollywood Studios. These performers are not to be missed and when I see parents dragging their kids past them to get in line for a meet and greet or ride I just shake my head. The Citizens of Hollywood are amazing ad-lib comics that everyone should take the time to appreciate. Below are some of my favorite moments from these … [Continue reading...]

Star Wars Weekends: Chewbaca is Sexy, and He Knows It!

20120612-223950.jpg

No visit to Disney's Hollywood Studios during Star Wars Weekends is complete until you have experienced Hyperspace Hoopla. Regardless of your status as a Star Wars geek, this stage show is definitely not to be missed. It is difficult to get a good viewing position for this show as people start staking out positions at the stage over two hours in advance. We weren't going to make that commitment but I was still able to get some decent photos of the event from off to the side of the stage. Below … [Continue reading...]
