Disney World Moderate Resorts

Disney World Moderate Resorts have a much more sophisticated feel than the Values. More spread out, these beautifully landscaped and tranquil resorts are a nice respite after a day in the parks. These resorts feel less like a kids playground, and more like an Adult Playground, yet they still offer plenty for the whole family. Each of Disney’s four Moderate Resorts offers counter service and table service dining options in addition to lounges and/or pool bars. (note that Port Orleans-French Quarter does not offer Table-Service dining) The main pools are seamlessly themed to that of the resort and include water slides (not found at any value resort pools) and other interactive elements for the Kids. Moderate Resorts also have water craft rental and guided fishing tours on their lakes, and some offer bike rental, carriage rides, and boat transport to Downtown Disney. Multiple bus stops make the walk from the stop to your room less inconvenient than the value category. However, being so spread out, depending on your room location it could be a very long walk to amenities such as the main pool or dining locations.

Disney’s Moderate Resort Rooms are 314 square feet, with the exception of Caribbean Beach at 340 square feet. The rooms sleep 2 to 5 people (plus one child under three in a crib) and compared to the Value Resorts, they have a larger bathroom and double sinks. Most include two Queen beds, however select rooms at Port Orleans-Riverside also include a Murphy bed; these are the 5 person rooms. Oddly, the larger Caribbean Beach rooms have a pair of smaller double beds. Note that the above applies to the Standard rooms at these Moderate Resorts. In addition, Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans-Riverside have updated select areas to include Pirate and Royal theming. All moderate resorts have free wi-fi in the rooms as well as in the public areas. See below for more specific information on each resort.
