Our First Off Site Hotel Stay for a Disney World Trip

Buena Vista Suites Lobby

After staying on site at Walt Disney World for our first twenty trips, we decided to take a chance and see what it is like to stay at an off site, non-Disney owned resort for our 21st trip to The World. We did some research starting with Mousesavers.com to look into the resorts they recommended and where they were located in the Disney area. Staying at the end of August made for some pretty good deals, since southern schools were already back in session, thus “tourist” season was over. We decided on a one bedroom suite at Buena Vista Suites on World Center Drive, about a mile outside of Disney property. Two queen beds, a double pull out couch and a free breakfast for only $99 a night seemed too good to be true. Was it? … [Continue reading...]

Wow. 2014 came and went with a total of one post (not including this last minute one) to our blog. Ugh. With all that has been going on in Walt Disney World, from the full roll-out of FastPASS+ and the completion of New Fantasyland, to the … [Continue reading...]

What Are MagicBands, and What Will They Do For Me?

MagicBands

Star Wars Weekends 2013 Photo Tour

Slave Leia, Hyperspace Hoopla-Hollywood Studios

2013 marked our second year in a row visiting Walt Disney World specifically to catch Star Wars Weekends. We make several trips a year, and I think the annual Star Wars Weekends event will continue to be high on the list of must dos for the foreseeable future. The yearly schedule for this event seems to be the last two weekends of May and first two weekends of June. In 2012 we visited for the third weekend, and for 2013 we visited for weekend four. In recent years, weekend one has overlapped … [Continue reading...]
