Kilimanjaro Safaris Update

Elephants on Kilimanjaro Safaris At Disney's Animal Kingdom

Back in February, Disney posted on its blog that Animal Kingdom’s Kilimanjaro Safaris will be getting an update some time in spring of 2012. The updates mentioned additional space for the zebras and removal of the Audio-Animatronics “Little Red” elephant and the items related to the poachers camp. Whenever we are at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we try to get in a morning, as well as an evening ride on Kilimanjaro Safaris. On the morning of Sunday April 29th 2012, we noticed one cast member with a “I’m Celebrating… Wilson’s retirement” button while we were in line, which reminded us of the Disney announcement about the safari update. The morning safari was not much different, but we did notice that the termite mounds had … [Continue reading...]

Disney Dining Plan now accepted at Anandapur Tea Company!

Royal Anandapur Tea Company

As big fans of the Iced Chai Tea and the REAL coffee available at the Royal Anandapur Tea Company, we were always a bit disappointed that this food location was not on the Disney Dining Plan. Well, on our recent trip to Walt Disney World we were delighted to find that the Royal Anandapur Tea Company now accepts snack credits from the Disney Dining Plan for most of the items on their menu. This applies to all drinks that only come in one size, but only the small sizes of the drinks that come in small, medium, and large, and for some reason does not apply to the "Flavored Latte". (See the photo below) The Frozen Chai Tea found here is one of our favorite non-alcoholic drinks on property, especially on those hot summer days. At $4.89 … [Continue reading...]

Eat to the Beat Concert: Howard Jones

Howard Jones with his synthesizers at the 2011 Epcot Eat to the Beat Concert Series at Walt Disney World

On October 22nd I got to see someone that I haven’t seen for 27 years, someone who brought back fond memories and total nostalgia. I, once again, got to see Howard Jones in concert! Now, I’m sure some of you are probably saying “Who? I’ve never heard of him!” (Dave included), but if you were an “alternative” music child of the 80’s, when synthesizers and drum machines were the instruments of choice, then you know exactly who I am talking about. Back in 1984 Howard Jones was a … [Continue reading...]

Epcot Food and Wine Festival 2011

Well, it’s almost time for us to visit the happiest place during happiest time of year – Walt Disney World during the Epcot Food and Wine Festival! If there was one thing we learned from our last trip, it’s that you can’t do it all in a weekend! Last year was our first visit during the Food and Wine Fest and it was also unfortunately the last weekend of the event. We were overwhelmed (but truly what did we expect?) by the masses lined up at the booths. Much to our dismay, we were unable … [Continue reading...]

Planning a Relaxing Trip to Disney World

Sea of Humanity at Epcot: August 25th, 2011

During our family trip to Walt Disney World in November 2010, the kids complained that it was not relaxing enough. That we spent too much time park hopping to do all the attractions we wanted to do and get to all the table service meal locations we made reservations for. That was the kids third annual trip and the first time we had heard this complaint. Normally, we plan park days around Extra Magic Hours and any special events, as well as advance dinner reservations. This trip was also during … [Continue reading...]
